Sikkim, a tiny state of India came into existence from 26th April 1975 with an area of 7096 sq. km. Situated in the Eastern Himalaya boast of its rich bio-diversity and high mountain ranges. Kancchendzonga the third highest peak in the world is also the guardian deity of Sikkimese people
400 species of flowering plants, 600 species of birds, 560 species of orchids, 40 species of Rhododendrons and large number of other animals are shattered in this tiny state.
It is bounded by Nepal to the west and Bhutan to the east, by the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north and northeast and by West Bengal to the south. Sikkim has divided into North, South, East and West districts.

Bagdogra is the nearest Airport, which is 124 kms. 4 hours to Gangtok and there on connects Kolkata, Delhi, Patna, Guwahati, Mumbai, Chennai. Jet Airways/Indian Airlines/Deccan Air/Kingfisher/spicejet operates in this route. 5 seater helicopter service between Bagdogra and Gangtok is also available.
NJP, Bagdogra, Siliguri and Darjeeling are connected to Gangtok by all weather roads, NJP to Gangtok is 124 Kms. Bagdogra to Gangtok 125 kms. Siliguri to Gangtok is 114 kms. Gangtok to Darjeeling is 94 kms. Numerous buses and jeeps ply to Gangtok from these destinations.
North Sikkim

South Sikkim
This district has the worlds tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava at Samdruptse overlooking Namchi some of Sikkims oldest monasteries are situated here the important places of interest are Ravangla, Tendong Hill, Maenam Hill, Borong, Temi Tea Garden etc. this is the only Tea Garden in Sikkim which produces one of the finest tea.
West Sikkim
This western district of Sikkim is another traveler’s fantasy. West Sikkim is the gateway to the Himalaya, whether trekking to the base of Kanchendzonga or viewing the mountains from your hotel window. Well-tended trails offers easy day hikes while furnished huts ease the rigours wilderness hiking. Pelling gives spectacular views of mount Kanchendzonga and has numerous waterfalls, Kechopalri Lake, Singhsore Bridge and other tourist spot.
East Sikkim
Gangtok, the capital is situated in the eastern part of Sikkim. Gangtok, meaning, “ the hill made flat”, served as the royal and administrative seat of the Kingdom of Sikkim from 1894 to 1975 and now as the state capital it retains the royal character. The Chhogyals durbar (Kings Palace) crowns the ridge, naturally facing Kanchendzonga.
View the city of Gangtok and Mount Kanchendzonga from the vantage of Enchhey Monastery. Stroll in the Deer park and visit the Research Institute of Tibetology, Do-Drul Chhorten and the Orchid Sanctuary. Take a Tibetan lunch in town and spend the time with artisans at the Handicraft and Handloom Center and explore Gangtok Bazaar.
